About Us
We Keep Our Alumni Connected
The VCC Alumni Association is dedicated to fostering lifelong connections among past pupils, celebrating our shared heritage, and supporting the continued growth and excellence of our alma mater.
To make the necessary interventions to steer the school in the right direction, setting an example for the nation while establishing coordination between the administrative structure and the Alumni Association in view of ensuring the current and future progress of the school.
To endow the school with the strengths required to enhance its physical and human resources, while creating a future-fit environment of innovation, and while preserving the identity of the school and its alumni community.
On 19 January 1942, with the aim of providing education to the children of the rural community of Dikwella,
Vijitha Central College was established as a great center of learning. Situated on the Matara-Tangalle main road,
about 22 miles from Matara town, and close to the Dikwella town area, the school was built on a beautiful land extent of about 25 acres.
The scenic surroundings, bordered by hills and overlooking the vast Indian Ocean, create a picturesque and inspiring environment ideal for education.
The land for the school was generously donated by philanthropists living in surrounding villages such as Dikwella, Dodampahala, and Hiriketiya.
The school that began with a small group of students gradually grew into a strong educational institution serving the sons and daughters
of the area.
